Every day, these dedicated caregivers selflessly provide care and support to our service members and veterans, who are suffering from the effects of active duty.
Sometimes it’s PTSD, or traumatic brain injury, or depression, or less invisible injuries such as physical limitations. Regardless, their support system is led by America’s hidden heroes.
These hidden heroes are spouses, parents, siblings, neighbors, and often children. What they aren’t is victims. What they are is the invaluable lifeline for our military service members and veterans, making enormous contributions to our society—contributions like ensuring more veterans can receive care at home, helping their care recipients stay on top of their medications, and working to maintain family cohesion in tough times.
