Shawn Moore is the Director, Support Programs and the Senior Advisor for Suicide Prevention. She is a national leader and voice for the nation’s military and veteran caregivers and their families. Utilizing her experience as a former police officer for nearly 15 years and a licensed master social worker she addresses audiences across the country to include advising legislators about the challenges faced by America’s military and veteran families.

Shawn is also an adjunct professor for the social work department at Park University. Shawn was a veteran family caregiver for her late husband for ten years. As a survivor she is passionate about advocacy and utilizes both her lived experience and education by presenting to national audiences such as the Veteran’s Health Administration, SAMHSA, National Alliance of Caregiving, PBS News Hour, TODAY Show, and MSNBC.
